I’m a writer who is fueled by connection.
Here’s what I do —
Journalist
After working as a staff reporter, I went freelance and have since written for The Washington Post, The New York Times, Yahoo, YES! Magazine, POPSUGAR, and more. I'm known for developing a deep rapport with interviewees, researching, and telling stories that are vital to people. Let’s talk about how we can work together.
Teacher
I currently teach a “flash” writing class at Left Margin LIT with my amazing friend Susie Meserve. “Flash" is just what it sounds like—you write it in a flash to get the words down on the page. Some people call these "short-shorts" or "micro stories.” All genres welcome.
Author
In 2018, when the worst wildfires in the history of California raged near my home, I was desperate to do something. That's why my focus turned to the women on the front lines. Writing about these teen activists hustling to save the planet for The Washington Post planted the seed for my book GIRL WARRIORS: How 25 Young Activists Are Saving the Earth.
